The PASS PLUS course can be taken as soon as you’ve passed your normal driving test. It was set up by the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency to enable you to broaden your experience and increase your driving knowledge.
It can also give a substantial discount for new drivers on their insurance. Just think, with an average comprehensive premium of £3500 for a 17 year old (under 1 litre petrol car), just a potential 5% discount means there’s a saving of £175 in the first year alone!
Essentially it covers…
- Driving in town.
- Driving in all weathers.
- Driving on rural roads.
- Driving at night.
- Driving on dual carriageways.
- Driving on motorways.
Pass Plus can be taken by anyone – there is no age limit. It is officially recognised and can break you into unfamiliar situations whilst helping ease you into motorway driving which you wouldn’t have covered on your driving test in Ipswich.
The training and assessment is carried out by an ADI driving instructor anytime and anywhere so as long as the criteria is met for testing. A set standard needs to be met and a certificate will be given by the DVSA.
